The Stone Academy PTA works to secure necessary resources for the school through various events and fundraisers held throughout the year.

  • Membership

    Your PTA membership demonstrates the importance you place on every student's experience at Stone Academy. The vibrant community our PTA helps build plays a vital role in making Stone a magical place that inspires creative learning. Join the PTA. 


    Throughout the year, our PTA actively works to fund teacher grants, plans and sponsors community events, and provides financial assistance so that every student can experience all that our school offers. 


    Stone Academy was the only elementary school in South Carolina to have 100% representation for all students for the 2023-2024 school year. We were the recipient of the One Voice for Every Child Award and we won the Golden Apple 100% Faculty Membership Award. 


    To show your support for all Stone students, faculty, and staff, we ask that every member of your family join the Stone Academy PTA this year. By purchasing a family membership, you help us get closer to our goal of having a PTA member for each Stone student. You also have the option to support this effort by sponsoring a membership for another child.

    Open on Fridays before school for students to shop starting after Labor Day. Enjoy special online shopping today for Stone spirit gear like t-shirts, sweatshirts, magnets, stickers, and Chromebook sleeves! Orders for Stone swag closed Friday, Aug. 30 for the year. Order details for the 2025-2026 school year to come this summer!

  • Volunteer Opportunities

    ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST RECEIVE DISTRICT APPROVAL PRIOR TO VOLUNTEERING AT ANY SCHOOL/CENTER OR CHAPERONING ANY SCHOOL FIELD TRIP. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO TWO WEEKS FOR THE APPROVAL PROCESS.


    To apply to be a volunteer please follow the following steps:

    1. Go to Greenville County Schools' School Visitor and Volunteer Guidelines webpage and complete the application. It usually takes one to two weeks for clearance to be granted.
    2. Please remember to always bring your photo ID with you every time you visit the school.
    3. Level 1 volunteers require the presence and supervision of a GCS employee at all times while on school property.
    4. Level 2 volunteers allow interaction with students without a GCS employee present.

  • Indirect Funds

    Last school year Stone Academy received over $8,000 from Spirit Nights, the Stinger Stone, Box Tops for Education, and by shopping with Harris Teeter and Publix! There is no easier way to help our school. Please take a moment to sign up for the incentive programs below. Many programs require signing up each year, so if you’ve signed up before, please check to ensure that you’re still in the program.


    BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

    • No more cutting Box Tops! The new-and-improved Box Tops program uses a mobile app to scan your store receipt, find participating products, and instantly add Box Tops to Stone Academy’s earnings online. Download the Box Tops for Education app on your phone and follow the simple steps to start earning money for Stone.

    HARRIS TEETER TOGETHER IN EDUCATION

    • Grab a VIC card at Harris Teeter and choose Stone Academy as a recipient through Together in Education. From the HT app, click the Account icon, scroll to the bottom, and select Together in Education. Search Stone Academy, then click the blue Add button. That's it! You can also complete this step online when you login to your account and scroll to “Together in Education.” Your VIC card can be linked with up to five different schools.

    PUBLIX PARTNERS 

    • For schools to earn money, customers must register for a Publix.com account, sign up for the Program, and then select Stone Academy. Each time you shop at Publix, you can help earn money for our school by entering your phone number in the PIN Pad during check-out or paying through the app.

  • Stinger Stone

    The Stinger Stone is available throughout the school year to paint (with a reservation and payment via SignUp Genius) and is a great way to send a special message to someone you care about at Stone Academy!

    Our fabulous @stonestingers teachers will be reading aloud at @mjudsonbooks between 4 and 7 p.m. and the Stone Singers will be performing on the front steps at 4:30 p.m.!     REFLECTIONS: Call For Entries! Reflections is an annual national art contest in which Stone Academy students participate. Entries from all grades and abilities are welcome with the chance to advance from local to state to national judging levels. The 2024–2025 Reflections theme is: Accepting Imperfection Students submit their completed original works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. *Entry deadline: Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at 8 p.m. and we’d love your participation! *Entries must be submitted using the ONLINE GOOGLE FORM*, not to a teacher at school.     Thank you to the family, friends, and community members who have served our country. Here are just a few of the many amazing Veterans that are part of our extended Stone family.
    Any Stone family member or special friend who serves/served in the military is invited to join students on Monday, Nov. 11 between 7:45 and 8 a.m. for a special Veterans Day celebration. The Stone Singers will sing a special song before heading outside for a flag raising ceremony and coffee plus pastries will be available for you to enjoy in the lobby. The faculty planning committee is putting together a bulletin board of photos; please add a photo if you have one, but be careful not to remove anyone else's photo.     Ready.Set.Grow! Now is the time to start growing your hair in order to donate 8+ inches of hair to @cwhl_org. The annual Stone Academy cut-a-thon will take place during the Picnic in the Park event on Monday, May 12. Students, faculty, family members, and friends are invited to participate. This year we are trying to raise $45,000 for Teacher Grants!
    Our principal has a request for the hive! In her September newsletter she asked if while you are out and about, would you be willing to pick up a couple small increment gift cards of any denomination and to any retailer? She loves being able to do spur-of-the-moment gift card giveaways for our amazing staff. They are some of the hardest working people and being able to give them a small token of appreciation in sporadic moments throughout the school year goes a long way. Please send those to the office in an envelope with Principal Shouse’s name on it and she’ll take it from there.

Join us at the field as many Tuesdays as you want (weather permitting) from 7 to 7:30 a.m. to get those laps in before the end of the year. This cool group logged 2,157 miles last year – that’s 22,552 laps (the distance from Greenville to Los Angeles). Come join the craze and earn those bragging rights as we work to surpass last year’s milestone!

    Once the hustle and bustle (and nerves!) of the first day of school is behind us, we’ll welcome any and all new families for a brief orientation on Friday, Aug. 9, at 8:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria. You’ll get some information about the school and various procedures from school administration, meet some of the key faculty that will be part of your child’s school life, and hear from our PTA Board about our events and activities happening this year with information on how to get involved.
    We can’t wait to see you today at Meet the Teacher! Reminder of times: Kindergarten families: anytime between 2 and 6 p.m. 1st - 5th families: anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. Have kids in kindergarten AND another grade? Either come twice (once with your Kindergartener and again with your other grade level child) OR join us starting at 4 p.m. as your older student will not be able to get their classroom assignment before 4 p.m.
    Tax Free Weekend is here so it’s time to take advantage and stock up on your kid’s school supplies! Grade level specific supply lists are posted on the Stone Academy website now to help you prep and be ready for the week ahead. Pro Tip: bring those supplies to Meet the Teacher and save yourself the trouble in the hustle and bustle of the first day of school!

    On Sunday, June 30, from 2 to 5 p.m., @athlinicsofficial is holding an NCAA Champions Youth Soccer Clinic with University of Clemson athletes! Open to both boys and girls, the event will feature notable NCAA Champion Clemson athletes — Tyler Trimnal, Nathan Richmond, among others — who will lead a skills training session and team play, concluding with a panel to speak with the players about student-athlete life at the Division I level. This event will take place at Nettles Park (Lower Fields), 102 Nettles Park Road, Clemson, SC 29631, USA This is an incredible opportunity for your boys and girls, who will not only develop as athletes but learn about the collegiate athlete experience.     We wanted to take a moment to honor and remember those who have sacrificed so that we can live and learn today.
    Thank you lunch for all of our fabulous faculty and staff took place right after the final dismissal for the 2023-2024 school year. Everyone boarded the trolley to head to the delicious and always incredible @sobysnewsouthcuisine where our Stone group celebrated the end of the year and all their hard work.     End of their fifth grade era is here and boy did they get to celebrate big. We could not be more proud of these sweet, smart, resilient, kind, passionate kids if we tried.     School’s almost out for summer! Today is the final full day of school for our students. Quick reminder that the kids will be released at 11:45 a.m. tomorrow and Wednesday to kick-off summer!
    All current PTA members are encouraged to vote for next year’s proposed PTA board members. The nominations were brought forth by a Nominating Committee and approved by the current PTA board. If you have not cast your vote, please refer to an email that was sent on Friday, May 10, through Givebacks for the link. Voting will close on Monday, May 20, and the newly elected board will be announced on Wednesday, May 22. *Only current PTA members are eligible to vote.
    Join our fifth grade students and their families on Wednesday, May 22 (LAST DAY OF SCOOL!), at 11:15 a.m. for our farewell clap-out as they bid farewell to our elementary school for middle school.
    Did you know it's International Family Day today? A wonderful way to get some quality time in AND help our school is to join us in the Secret Garden after school today to do some light clean up and preparations -- including letting the kids plant pumpkin seeds to harvest in the fall!
